FM104 - Facility Operations and Maintenance Management

Course description


This course will focus on management techniques to develop an efficient and responsive facilities team. Students should expect to develop a comprehensive understanding of the variety of disciplines and responsibilities required of a modern facilities maintenance organization.

Topics: Developing an effective work order request and tracking system; preventive maintenance; hiring and management of facilities personnel; custodial services; communication (written and oral); writing effective contracts; vendor management; developing and implementing operating budgets; planning; emergency response; emergency response and environmental health issues.
