INT001P - Interpreter Testing (Portuguese)

Course description

Acceptance in the Interpreter Program is based on fluency in English and Portuguese. To demonstate fluency, prospective students are invited to a testing session held in the evening. Students will translate documents. They will meet with two faculty members for a role-playing exercise in interpreting. Also, they will do a sight translation of a document.

In order to attend the testing session, student must 1) enroll in INT001 and pay the $50 testing fee and 2) submit an application to be in the program (see the interpreter home page for a copy). Information about the testing location will be sent with the confirmation.

No walk-ins will be permitted for testing.

Who should attend

Individuals who are fluent in English and Portuguese (spoken and written).
