In an ongoing effort to create career paths and enhance careers of current and future stakeholders of the financial planning profession, FPA developed the Internship Program to become a clearinghouse for individuals seeking internships and for financial planning firms and planners seeking interns.

The program is designed for individuals who have acquired the basic financial planning knowledge and application skills to begin working in a financial planning practice. The ideal candidate will already have completed, or be in the final stages of completing, a financial planning degree program or financial planning certificate program currently registered with Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc.

FPA's Internship program features

  • Online listing of internship positions
  • Online listing of prospective interns' resumes
  • Guidelines for planners creating a financial planning internship
  • Best practices from successful internships
  • Feedback for FPA internships
