Home Joseph P. Spada, JD Attorney Spada is the Director of Boston University's Paralegal Certificate Program, and he teaches Legal Research and Legal Writing and Reasoning. He graduated cum laude from Boston College, and earned his JD at The Catholic University, Columbus School of Law where he worked for a year in the Justice Department. Early in his career Attorney Spada worked as a law clerk with the Connecticut Trial Courts, with the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, and the Suffolk County's Sheriff's Department. Attorney Spada spent 20 years as a Federal Staff Attorney with The Honorable Lawrence P. Cohen at the United States District Court, District of Massachusetts. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar, the United States District Court, District of Massachusetts, and The first Circuit Court of Appeals. Attorney Spada taught Legal Research and Legal Writing at Metropolitan College for five years, and he has been the director of the Center for Professional Education's paralegal program since 2001. In 2001, Metropolitan College honored Attorney Spada with the Outstanding Instructor of the year award.
