Project Management Exam Preparation Instruction

PMI EXAM PREPARATION: PMP & ACP

Program Managers hold an integral function across industries, including construction, technology, and event planning. And while each job is unique, they all are responsible for taking the lead coordinating available resources with the schedule, through effective organization and communication. Program Managers’ resources include people, budget, materials, and facilities. Their traditional workplace, both in terms of structure and geography, is increasingly team-based and virtually located.

The Project Management Institute (PMI®) developed credentials to identify the professionalism of Project Managers through training, resources, and credentialing. Based on rigorous standards and continuous research, they have become the global leader in this field.

PMI Exam Preparation at Boston University

The first credentials that many Project Managers earn through PMI are PMP and PMI-ACP—and Boston University’s Metropolitan College (MET) offers test preparation classes for each of these two credentials through the Center for Professional Education (CPE).

Format

Presented in a blended format, classes for either credential are a combination of online and face-to-face learning. The first five weeks include one-hour recorded webinars where the instructor reviews introductory information, best practices, and advice on completing the exam application. Each course ends in three consecutive days at the BU campus with the instructor to review testing techniques, terminology, and concepts.
