Facility Operations and Maintenance Management FM104
This course will focus on management techniques to develop an efficient and responsive facilities team. Students should expect to develop a comprehensive understanding of the variety of disciplines and responsibilities required of a modern facilities maintenance organization.
Topics: Facilities personnel recruiting; position descriptions, training, and management; developing an effective work order request and tracking system; preventive maintenance; custodial services; communication (written and oral); writing effective contracts; Key Performance Indicators (KPI); negotiating with vendors; and creating and managing operating and capital budgets.
